Looking back on this project and the research that came with it, I have learned a lot.  I have learned some of the challenges that many soldiers faced, but most importantly, I have learned what true sacrifice looks like.  Many soldiers died over the course of World War II, and in doing so, they sacrificed their lives to preserve a freedom around the world.  If I could sit and talk to John L. Maguire Jr., I  would love to know what was his own reason for willing to take up arms.  All soldiers fought for freedom, but many had their own reasons as well.  With that in mind It would be interesting to know if GM Maguire had his own reason.  In search for more information about GM Maguire, the most useful source I could use was the small ancestry page on him.  It provided access to multiple documents that explained where he grew up, where he worked, and when he enlisted.  This project made me look at the word gratitude in a much different light.  I not only look at the fallen with gratitude for their sacrifice, but also those who survived.  I thank those who honor the fallen, and those who have fallen.
